About the Symposia

Genome instability impacts a wide range of cellular events critical for normal function of various physiological processes. Human cells with genome instability are sensitive to several DNA-damaging agents and many such defects cause various clinical phenotypes affecting multiple systems. Therefore, it is important to undertake complementary and interwoven approaches to study the origins of genome instability such as DNA damage response, DNA repair pathway defects and genome stability at both molecular and cellular level. This will improve our understanding of DNA damage response, DNA repair pathway defects and consequences of genome stability and will provide new avenues for drug discovery and disease treatment. International symposia on genome instability will bring together scientists, clinicians and technologists from India and the Netherlands for collaborative efforts on pursuing research on DNA repair and genome stability with the goal to improve the current treatment strategies for genome stability-related diseases.
