Dr. Lung-Jieh Yang

Dr. Lung-Jieh Yang is a distinguished material scientist and the Counselor and Director of the Science and Technology Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India. He earned his Ph.D. from the Institute of Applied Mechanics at National Taiwan University in 1997 and has served as a visiting associate at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) from 2000 to 2001. Dr. Yang is a professor at the Department of Mechanical & Electromechanical Engineering at Tamkang University, Taiwan. In his current role, he is seconded to the National Science & Technology Council as Counselor and Director. His prolific academic contributions include over 81 international journal articles, 120 conference papers, 12 patents, and 6 books in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), flapping wing micro-air-vehicles (FWMAVs), and Marine Technology. With an h-index of 20 in the Scopus database and more than 1,500 citations, Dr. Yang's research impact is notable. He has held esteemed positions such as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Science and Engineering and department chair at Tamkang University. Currently, he is the president of the International Society of Intelligent Unmanned Systems (ISIUS) and has organized several major international conferences. Elevated to IEEE Senior Member in 2013, Dr. Yang supervises numerous PhD and postgraduate students, further advancing the field of material science and engineering.
