Dr. Sharan S. Sargod is a distinguished expert in the field of pediatric and preventive dentistry, with a career that spans over two decades of teaching, research, and clinical practice. He earned his MDS Degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) in 2002. Since then, he has been a cornerstone of Yenepoya Dental College in Mangalore, where he currently heads the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry at Yenepoya University. Dr. Sargod is not only a respected educator but also an active researcher, continuously contributing to advancements in dental science. As a practicing clinician, Dr. Sargod specializes in dental traumatology and preventive dentistry. His comprehensive treatment ensures that his young patients receive excellent care. Dr. Sargod's contributions to the field have been recognized nationally. He was honored with the prestigious Young Pedodontist Award by the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD). Dr Deepesh Prajapati is Rajasthan’s first exclusive pediatric dentist serving children of Jaipur since the year 2013. He finished his bachelor's from Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College and Hospital, Pune 2009, followed by a master's degree from the Department of Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry, MCODS Manipal, 2013. Dr Deepesh has numerous international and national publications to his name including a few innovative contributions to the dental fraternity namely Rashmdeep’s method for diagnosis of mouth breathers, Rashmdeep’s abscess in mixed dentition, NIMS modification of band and loop & has also contributed to three chapters in the gold standard textbook – Pediatric dentistry by Dr Shobha Tandon. He is also the proud owner of Rajasthan’s first nitrous oxide inhalation sedation machine in a hospital setup as well as the developer of preformed pediatric zirconia crowns. He has an avid interest in oral parafunctional habits in kids like mouth breathing & wrong tongue posture etc. He keenly looks for treating malocclusions and believes in conservation and prevention more than intrusion. Dr. Shashidhar Acharya is an esteemed Professor in the Department of Public Health Dentistry, MCODS Manipal and served as the Head of the Department from 2011 to 2020. He was the principal research supervisor for 20 candidates in the MDS program from 2006 to 2019. In addition to his educational and research work, Dr. Acharya was an active coordinator for the Indo-European Amchi Dental Outreach program. He is the proud founder and coordinator of the MIDST International Dental Summer program and the AIESEC global volunteer program for dentistry. Dr. Acharya successfully organized the National Conference of the Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry in his capacity as Chairman of the Organizing Committee in 2015, which welcomed more than 700 delegates. Dr. Acharya has consistently ranked in the top 2 percentile by c-score in his subfield for the last three years, according to a ranking released by the prestigious Stanford University. He has an astounding 96 SCOPUS publications under his belt, proving his expertise and knowledge of the subject. He has been a prolific researcher in his field and continues to inspire many to follow in his footsteps. Introducing one of our esteemed keynote speakers for Manipal Dental Conference 2024, Dr. Satyabodh S Guttal. After he graduated from SDM College of Dental Sciences in 1999 he continued to complete his MDS in Prosthodontics from the same college in 2001. Currently a professor at SDM College of Dental Sciences with a private practice in Dharwad, he has also received training in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom in 2004. With over 55 publications and 22 years of clinical experience, he's the only Indian on the editorial board of the Journal of Prosthodontics. He's the section editor for Maxillofacial Prosthodontics, Karnataka Chapter Prosthodontic Society Journal. Furthermore, he serves as the ad-hoc reviewer for the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Indian Journal of Dental Research, Gerontology and, the European Journal of Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry. A few of his achievements include the Perio-India Award 2011 and the Award of Excellence 2018 from the State Head Office- IDA Bangalore. With over 2 decades of expertise in the field of Oro-Facial Implant Prosthetics, Full Mouth Implant Restorations and Functional Esthetic Dentistry, Dr. Guttal believes in evolving and continuously updating himself on the latest in the digital dental revolution, making him the perfect person to speak on 'Innovation in Digital Dentistry' at MDC 2024.
