Title : Building and sustaining transdisciplinary collaborations: Tips for greenhorn researchers

Prof. Ciraj A.M., Deputy Director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Interprofessional. Development (CCEID) at Manipal Academy of Higher Education is a Professor of Microbiology at Melaka Manipal Medical College, Manipal Campus. He is a fellow and global faculty of the FAIMER (Foundation for advancement of International Medical Education and Research) Institute, Philadelphia. Dr. Ciraj is a recipient of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) - Early Career award (2006), Honorable Mention award (2010), UNESCO award for International Educators (2011) and Outstanding Mentor award (2012). He is a Fulbright visiting scholar at the Department of Molecular biology and Infectious diseases, Florida International University, Miami and a recipient of the International fellowship in medical education (IFME). He completed his Masters in Health professions specializing in assessment and accreditation from Keele University, United Kingdom with a distinction. Dr. Ciraj has authored articles and chapters in health professions education and served on the editorial board of the many journals. For the innovative student centered pedagogic approaches, he was awarded the “Good Teacher Award”, EIGHT times by the University. He is the Founder Director of the newly launched fellowship program that focuses on leadership in Interprofessional education organized in collaboration with FAIMER, Philadelphia at the Manipal FAIMER Institute. He serves as the Chair of IndIPEN, the Indian interprofessional education network and executive committee member of the Academy of Health Professions Educators, India.
