It is an arena where conferences and seminars of key areas of interest and latest findings are portrayed. Publishing books, manuals and journals to answer queries and share ideas for application for general public and highlight best practices for area/ function specific application are some of the broad spectrums in which SHAAPED is structured. It also offers workshops and training for relevant subjects in the domain of built environment and allied subjects.

As a subject for this very first international conference “Conversations in Conservation” is being organised and being held from 21st February 2019 to 23rd February 2019.

“Conversations in Conservation” as a topic has arisen to share ideas amongst the professionals, who have been working in the field of Architectural conservation & Heritage Management for many years now. These conversations are an important precedents for the future practices and mitigation measures in the related fields. Today the field of conservation & heritage management is undergoing a sea change in the methods of practices and procedures. As observed, in the last few decades, technology driven solutions are fast becoming part of the subject, and the gap between the technology and the regular practice is quite huge, and the same technology needs to permeate to the academia. Architectural Conservation is one end of the spectrum, it is also to be understood that management of the heritage assets is an even bigger task. Heritage management today has risen as a major practice in the field, advising the government and private organizations on the management aspects.

This conference gives a platform where one can discuss and deliberate on the broad themes of the topics mentioned above, and it is also important to understand the need and know the best practices happening around the globe in the field of Architectural Conservation and Heritage Management.
