Kiran Bir Sethi Design for Change, Riverside School, Founder An advocate of change, Kiran found that modern institutions don’t emphasis much upon imagination or emotional-well being and choice. Hence, in the year 2001, she set up her own school in Ahmedabad. The school focused on developing future citizen leaders of the country. The school has initiated the ‘aProCh’ (a protagonist in every child) which celebrates childhood. This programme has been followed by many schools across the country. Kiran became an Ashoka Fellow in 2008 and was honoured with the Patricia Blunt Koldyke Fellowship 2013 in Social Entrepreneurship. Her Design for Change initiatives won the INDEX – Design to Improve Life Award in 2011 and The Rockefeller Foundation Youth Innovation Award in 2012. aProCh won the Ashoka American Express ‘Serve2Gether’ Consultancy Award in 2013.
