About Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT)
Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal was established in the year 1957 as one of the pioneering self-financing engineering colleges in the country. MIT has 23 undergraduate programs, 31 postgraduate programs, and doctoral programs in all streams of engineering and science under 18 different departments. To promote innovation, incubation, and entrepreneurship, the Innovation Center at MIT houses Manipal University Technology Business Incubator and Central Instrumentation Facility. The institute undertakes sponsored research programs supported by funding agencies such as DST, CSIR, AICTE, VGST, and the Ministry of Environmental Sciences, etc. It has collaborative research programs with premier research laboratories and institutes in India and abroad. In 2018, the parent university of MIT, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), was accorded the status of “Institution of Eminence” by MHRD, Government of India.
