Dr. GANG LI



Gang Li is the university academic board member and full professor at Deakin University, and he is the AI director in the Strategic Research Center of Cyber Resilience and Trust (CREST). His research includes data mining, privacy preservation, group behavior analysis and business intelligence. He holds one international patent, and his research has been funded by various agencies, including ARC-LP, India’s Sparc Scheme and Hong Kong GRF. He has co-authored eight papers that won best paper prizes, including the KSEM 2018 best paper award, IFITT Journal Paper of the Year 2018, ACM/IEEE ASONAM2012 best paper award, the 2008 Nightingale Prize by Springer, etc.

Prof. Li serves as the chair for IEEE Task Force on Educational Data Mining (2020-2023), and on the IEEE Data Mining and Big Data Analytics Technical Committee (2017-2019 Vice Chair), IEEE Enterprise Information Systems Technical Committee. He is on the editorial board of prestigious journals including Decision Support Systems, Cyber Security, Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, etc.

Dr. G K PATRA



Dr G K Patra, is working as a Chief Scientist in the Data Science and Supercomputing Division at the CSIR Fourth Paradigm Institute, which was earlier known as CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulations. He is also a Professor at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), which is an institute of national importance by Government of India.

His fields of interest includes various security aspects of current generation Cyber Physical Systems and High Performance Computing. At present, he is engaged in research on security and privacy aspects of connected vehicles using Artificial Intelligence, blockchain and cryptography. He has published more than 50 research papers in reputed journals and refereed conference proceedings. He has many best paper awards in International Conferences for providing security solutions based on neural networks and chaos. He has received his post graduate and Ph.D. degree in Electronics from Berhampur University in the year 1994 and 2002 respectively. He has supervised three Ph.D. students and many are currently carrying out research for their degrees.

He is one of the key members who made significant contributions in establishing one of the largest supercomputing facility of the country at CSIR Fourth Paradigm Institute. In additions he is member of many industrial advisory board and board of studies of many reputed academic institutes in the country. He is also an adjunct faculty at Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham.

Dr. JAYAPRAKASH THAKUR



Jayprakash Thakur, Principal Engineer, Intel (PhD, Senior IEEE Member), obtained his master’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from Devi Ahilya University, Indore and PhD in Microwave Electronics from Delhi University, India in 1997 and 2004, Correspondingly. He joined Defense Research Organization (DRDO), Delhi as Researcher and worked from 1998 to 2003 on the process characterization of Gallium-Arsenide MMIC semiconductor technology. He pursued his post-doctoral research at Kookmin University, Seoul, South Korea from 2005 to 2007, there his research topic was RFID reader system design. later, he moved to gain industrial experience and joined Amphenol at Shanghai, China as a RF-Engineer and completed several mobile phone antenna projects from 2007 to 2009. He joined Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea, as a research professor, where he engaged in mm-wave image sensing radar design and worker there from 2009 to 2010.

He returned to India in later 2010 and work as RF-manager in MindTree for 6-months then joined Intel Technology, Bangalore in 2011 as Sr. system design engineer and promoted to many different roles, currently, he is working as a Principal Engineer in “wireless system integration”. He drives Wireless Technology Development computer systems.

He has nearly 24 years of exposure in wireless research and industrial product design at renowned universities, research organizations and reputed mobile product companies, including 12 years at Intel. He (co)authored over 40 technical journals and conference papers. He filed 38 US patents.

Dr. VENUGOPAL K R



Dr. Venugopal K R, Former Vice-Chancellor, Bangalore University has served Bangalore University and UVCE for over the last five decades. He has 11 degrees with two Ph.Ds., one in Economics from Bangalore University and another in Computer Science Engineering from IIT Madras. He received his ME degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has degrees in Electronics and Communications, Law, Journalism, Public Relations, Business Finance, Economics, Industrial Relations and Communications.

He is the Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education, South West Regional Office and was the Member of the Executive Council of AICTE. He has authored and edited 84 books, he has published more than 1100 Research Papers, he has a Google Scholar citations H-index of 39 and has been credited with 38 patents. He has awarded Ph.D to 30 students, guided informally 150 Research Scholars and supervised more than 800 Post Graduate dissertations in Computer Science and Engineering. He has organized 35 International Conferences and more than 1050 Workshops, Symposiums, Seminars and Special Lectures. He received IEEE Fellow and ACM Distinguished Educator award from USA for his outstanding contributions to the field of Computer Science Engineering. He was a Post Doctoral Research Scholar and visiting Professor at University of Southern California, USA.

He was special officer to Government of Karnataka and restructured Bangalore University into four Universities; i.e, Bangalore University, Bangalore City University, Bangalore North University and University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering on the model of IIT with a funding of 175 crores. He has served as member of Executive Committees in AICTE, ISEC, BASE as expert in DST, UGC, NBA, and NAAC, and as member in Government of Karnataka and Government of India. The Bangalore University during his tenure as Vice-Chancellor (2018-2022) has been accredited by NAAC with A++ grade and score of 3.75 and stands first among the public universities in the country and third among all universities in the country.

He has been donating his salary, pension and royalty from his books to the Educational Charitable Institutions and to the cause of Development of Education in University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering and Bangalore University with a funding of 175 crores. He has established two Engineering Colleges and two Schools in Bangalore. He represented Cricket and Athletics for Bangalore University and was a student representative throughout his career. He is a philanthropist, social worker, researcher, innovator and an outstanding academician known for his integrity, honesty, commitment and dedication

Dr. DILIP KUMAR DALEI



Shri Dilip Kumar Dalei is a scientist at Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR), DRDO, Bengaluru. He received his Bachelor degree in “Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)” from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, India in 2004. He obtained his M. Tech in “Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)” from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India in 2010. He also completed his Master’s Degree in “Information Technology Security (ITS)” from Masaryk University (MU), Brno, Czech Republic in the year 2017. He has 18 years of R&D experience in design and development of defence software and system in DRDO. He is awarded DRDO National Science Day medal in the year 2014. He has also received DRDO Technology Group Award in 2015. His research areas of interest are Data Visualization, Computer Graphics, 3D Display Technology, GPU Computing, Geographic Information System (GIS), Information Security, Digital Image Processing and Computer Vision. He has research papers, articles and book chapters published in International Conferences and Publishers. He is also Member, Life Member and Fellow of many professional societies such ACM, IEEE, CSI, Indian Science Congress, Institute of Engineers and Indian Society for Remote Sensing.

Dr. VIMAL BHATIA



Vimal Bhatia (SM’12, FIETE, FOSI) is currently working as a Professor with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, India, and is an adjunct faculty at IIT Delhi and IIIT Delhi, India. He received Ph.D. degree from Institute for Digital Communications with The University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, U.K., in 2005. During Ph.D. he also received the IEE fellowship for collaborative research at the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering, Carleton University, Canada, and is Young Faculty Research Fellow from MeitY, Govt of India. He is also a recepient of Prof SVC Aiya Memorial Award (2019). He has worked with various IT companies for over 11 years both in India and the UK. He is a PI/co-PI/coordinator for external projects with funding of over USD 20 million from MeitY, DST, UKIERI, MoE, AKA, IUSSTF and KPMG. He has more than 350 peer reviewed publications, and has filed 13 patents (with 5 granted). He has supervised 18 awarded PhD thesis, and 2 PhD thesis submitted. His research interests are in the broader areas of communications, non-Gaussian non-parametric signal processing, machine/deep learning with applications to communications and photonics. He is a reviewer for IEEE, Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, and IET. He is currently Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow IETE and certified SCRUM Master. He was also the General Co-Chair for IEEE ANTS 2018, and General Vice-Chair for IEEE ANTS 2017. He has served as founder head of Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Associate Dean R&D and Dean, Academic Affairs. He has delivered many talks, tutorials and conducted faculty development programs for the World Bank’s NPIU TEQIP-III and invited talk at WWRF46-Paris. He is currently Associate Editor for IETE Technical Review, Frontiers in Communications and Networks, Frontiers in Signal Processing, and IEEE Wireless Communications Letters. He is currently DRISHTI CPS Chair Professor at IIT Indore. He is current member Steering Committee for IEEE ANTS. He has been mentioned amongst the World's Top 2% Scientists by the Stanford University
