About Symposium
Manipal School of Life Sciences, MAHE, Manipal, a constituent Institution of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal will host 8th symposium of Costal Karnataka Chapter of SBC with the main objective of imparting recent knowledge in the field of Biological Chemistry and allied fields for faculties, researchers and students.

About SBCI
The Society of Biological Chemists (India) (SBC-I) founded in 1930, has 3700 life members and 42 local chapters with a major emphasis to bring together the researchers in all the field of Biological Chemistry. It is affiliated to FAOBMB and IUBMB.
Objectives
The objectives of the Coastal Karnataka Chapter of SBCI is to bring together Biological Chemists and Scientists/Scholars from closely related area of Life Sciences, working in different Universities, Institutions and Departments of Karnataka State, to hold meetings and symposia for discussions on topics in which the members pursue their research activities. Smaller meetings of this nature brings together people with common interest and encourage collaborative research. Also, local chapter aims to provide platform for the young researchers and faculty to present their work, share their ideas, get exposure to recent developments and discuss the implications of development in the field of Biological Chemistry as well as their applications in various fields such as medicine, pharmaceutical industry, diagnostics, biotechnology etc.
