Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), A Constituent Unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, Karnataka plays a vital role in producing world-class engineers tuned to the demands of a fast-changing global village. Starting in 1957 as Manipal Engineering College, MIT was the first self-financed engineering college in India. It offers 16 B. E. programs and 25 M. Tech programs in various disciplines. INDIAN NAVY ACADEMY, EZHIMALA


The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, is the premier officer training establishment of the Indian Navy under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Nestled along the scenic Malabar Coast of Kerala, the Academy is entrusted with the pre-commissioning training of officers of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and friendly foreign nations. FACULTY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, INA EZHIMALA

The faculty of Mechanical Engineering is dedicated to advancing engineering education to the officer’s trainees of the Mechanical stream of Indian Navy through excellence in teaching, research, innovation and experiential learning. The faculty pursues academic and applied research across a broad spectrum of emerging disciplines, including robotics, mechatronics, marine autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, instrumentation and control, embedded systems, industrial automation, computational fluid dynamics, additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, stealth technologies, bio-inspired robotics, haptics and perception, and other evolving defence technologies. It also develops virtual laboratory modules in defence technologies and engineering sciences to enrich simulation-driven learning and strengthen practical engineering education. Through sustained collaborations with leading academic institutions, research organisations, industry partners, and the open-source engineering community, the faculty fosters interdisciplinary research, indigenous technology development, and engineering innovation, contributing to the development of future-ready naval officers capable of addressing the evolving demands of maritime engineering and defence technology.
